On July 31, 2020, a Nairobi court heard a case of alleged fraud involving Sh 4.1 million in construction services.
Bernard Ngugi Muita, alias Professor Michael Mwachovi Mwachazo Waghalagu, was charged with obtaining construction services worth Sh 4,130,644 from Nelson Kamau Karagu of Interlink Industries.
The services were allegedly obtained on behalf of Ngara Girls High School in Starehe constituency, Nairobi county, between March 12 and May 31, 2019.
Ngugi is accused of falsely representing himself as a professor of education and the president of Dalm International Limited, a company not registered by the registrar of companies.
He was released on a cash bail of Sh 500,000 or an alternative bond of Sh 1 million.
