On July 30, 2020, Brazil's First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro tested positive for COVID-19, just days after her husband, President Jair Bolsonaro, proclaimed that he had recovered from the respiratory disease.

According to reports, Michelle is in good health and is being taken care of by the President's medical team.

Michelle had visited a public gathering with her husband a day before testing positive, where she was seen wearing a face mask.

Despite the high rate of coronavirus infection in the country, Brazil had announced that it is set to lift international flights ban.

President Bolsonaro has been a vocal critic of the seriousness of the pandemic, claiming that it was exaggerated.
