On August 1, 2020, Nation Media Group (NMG) embarked on a digital transformation journey, making it the first media house in Africa to adopt this change.

As part of this transformation, the media group has revamped its website from nation.co.ke to nation.africa, and introduced a new look for its newspapers.

According to Nation Media's editorial director, Mutuma Mathiu, the new design is a modernization effort that aims to preserve the group's character and identity.

"This retiring look is almost 10 years old and comes from designers in the Mario Garcia stable, a prominent and influential constellation of US and global design stars. The new one is the work of Ms Lucie Lacava, a Canadian, who has reshaped some of the world's leading newspapers," Mathiu wrote in his column.

NMG's chief executive officer, Stephen Gitagama, expressed his pride in this new chapter for the company, stating, "Today is a proud moment for NMG as we take a bold step that is a turning point towards becoming a modern digital content company."
