July 30, 2020 - Singer Kevin Bahati has finally spoken out on reports that he has abandoned the Gospel Music Industry for Secular music. In an interview with MC Jessy, Bahati explained that he has taken a break from the Gospel Industry and is now focused on releasing love songs.

According to Bahati, he has not left the Gospel Industry, but rather, he has separated himself from it for a while. He emphasized that his faith in God remains strong and that he cannot leave Christ behind.

"The gospel is Christ, and I have Christ in my heart and believe in God. God is the reason I'm at the top, I cannot leave Christ, that's the most important," Bahati said.

Bahati also clarified that he has not left the Gospel Industry due to financial struggles, as some have suggested. He stated that he has been working with secular artists, including Boondocks Gang, the Kansoul, Ethic, Benzema, Ssaru, Petra, and Akothee, but this does not mean he has abandoned his Gospel roots.

"I prayed before I wrote Wanani, Missing You, I consulted God a lot. I was fought a lot in the gospel industry, and I knew I was not doing the gospel for the people. So when I'm doing a gospel song, I will do it for God, not for the industry," Bahati explained.
