MCA Patricia Mutheu has been hospitalized after a brutal attack by four police officers at her workplace in Mlango Kubwa. The incident occurred on July 28th, 2020.

According to a letter to the Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, Mutheu's lawyer Cliff Ombeta stated that she was attacked for no apparent reason while within the precincts of her workplace.

"It is worthwhile to note that our client was within the precincts of her work place and it was a plenary day. She was not involved in any criminal activity and was within her rights to be where she was," said Ombeta.

Video footage of the incident shows Mutheu being attacked by the four male officers, with one of them choking and kicking her while she was on the floor.

Ombeta further stated that Mutheu was not armed, did not resist arrest, and did not provoke the officers in any manner.

"One of the officers (senior) whose tag reads Mwaniki is also seen choking our client and Kicking her viciously while she is on the floor," the lawyer added.

Mutheu is demanding that the Inspector General take action against the officers involved and remove them from the force. She is also seeking compensation for the harm caused.
