Chinese electronics giant Oppo has been at the forefront of rapid charging technology, with its VOOC brand offering fast-charging solutions on its smartphones for years.
On July 15th, Oppo will unveil its latest innovation: 125W super fast-charging technology. The announcement comes as the current quarter draws to a close, marking the expected arrival of smartphones with 100W fast-charging technology.
According to Oppo's teaser on Twitter, the wait for faster charging speeds is almost over. The company's tweet reads: 'If you don’t like waiting to charge, the wait is almost over. #FlashForward epic.twitter.com/Uq54uJEphQ' (@oppo, July 13, 2020)
With the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo already pushing the boundaries of fast-charging technology, Oppo's 125W solution is expected to be a significant upgrade. Xiaomi's 100W fast-charging solution, for instance, can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 17 minutes, while Vivo's 120W fast-charging technology can do the same in 13 minutes.
As Oppo prepares to take the fast-charging game to the next level, one thing is certain: the future of smartphone charging is looking brighter than ever.
