Published on July 23, 2020, Arsenal are making a last-ditch effort to keep their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club by offering him a new contract.

The new deal, worth approximately £250,000 a week plus bonuses, is an attempt by the North London club to convince the 31-year-old striker to stay beyond his current deal, which expires in less than a year.

Aubameyang has been a key player for Arsenal this season, scoring crucial goals, including both goals in the 2-0 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City.

Despite being linked with European giants like Barcelona and Inter Milan, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has publicly expressed his desire to keep Aubameyang at the club, citing the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on potential transfers.
