On July 22, 2020, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) unveiled the official match ball for the 2020/2021 season at its headquarters in Accra. The match ball, named Macron, is a product of the Bologna-based Sporting Apparel Company.

The sponsorship deal between the GFA and Macron Ghana is worth GH¢1.6 million for three years. As part of the deal, 5,000 match balls will be provided to the GFA each year.

According to GFA President Kurt Okraku, the partnership will have a significant impact on the development of football in Ghana. "It is a historic day, and the gesture from Macron Ghana will affect every facet of our football development," he said.

With the Macron match ball, club owners will no longer have to bear the burden of purchasing footballs, a significant cost savings for the clubs.

The Macron match ball will be used for the first time in the 2020/2021 season, which is set to kick off in October 2020.
