On July 20, 2020, Kenya reported a significant increase in COVID-19 cases, bringing the country's total to 13,771 since the first confirmed case on March 13.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the country recorded 418 new infections, with 263 males and 155 females affected. The new cases were identified after testing 2,474 samples in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 408 were Kenyans and 10 were foreigners. Dr. Aman also announced that 494 patients had been discharged, with 465 under home care and the rest in hospitals.

Unfortunately, the country also reported four more deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 238. Dr. Aman rectified an earlier report of 19 deaths in a single day, which would have been the highest number ever recorded in Kenya.
