On Monday, the Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) announced a significant milestone in Kenyan football history with the signing of a Ksh 100 million five-year deal with BetKing Kenya to sponsor the Division One League.

The partnership, which was sealed at the FKF headquarters, will see the league referred to as the BetKing Division One League.

Under the agreement, each of the 32 Division One clubs from Zone A and Zone B will be entitled to an annual grant of at least Ksh 500,000 from the Federation.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa expressed his delight at the new deal, stating, "This is the first time in the history of Kenyan football that the Division One league has attracted a sponsor, and so we are happy to announce yet another milestone as we endeavour to raise Kenyan football's commercial value."

He added, "We believe this deal will not only help ease our clubs' financial obligations but also play a pivotal role in raising the level of competition in the league."

The announcement comes just days after the FKF President signed a separate deal with BetKing Kenya worth Ksh 1.2 Billion for the FKF Premier League.

The official unveiling of the partner and the league logo is set to take place in September.
