Published on July 20, 2020, businessman and politician Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich, alias Buzeki, has made a significant contribution to AFC Leopards, a Kenyan Premier League side, by gifting the club Sh500,000.
The Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant in 2017, Buzeki, has been a long-time supporter of the club and has been in discussions with officials to explore potential partnerships.
"I remember when I was young, without the TV, I knew the Leopards players by name by just following the matches on the radio. AFC Leopards has always been my team," Buzeki said.
He emphasized the need for the club to take action and work towards a mutually beneficial partnership, stating, "We have to stop talking and walk the talk. The club can share the kind of engagement how they would like to have with us and we can work out a mutually beneficial partnership."
AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda welcomed Buzeki's support and called on more partners to come on board, saying, "We need more partners on board. We are delighted to have you with us here at the club during these challenging times and we look forward to creating a long-lasting working partnership with you."
The club recently secured a Sh40 million sponsorship deal with BetSafe and is seeking additional sponsors to cater to its financial needs.
