July 20, 2020 - Jambojet, a regional low-cost carrier, has taken a significant step in enhancing customer experience with the introduction of a Progressive Web App (PWA). This innovative platform allows customers to book tickets, check in, and access their boarding pass on their smartphones, making travel more convenient and efficient.

The PWA, available on both Android and iOS, is designed to streamline processes, saving time and reducing physical touch points. According to Jambojet's Head of Information Systems, Benjamin Collins, the app consumes less data and is reliable even in uncertain network conditions.

“Unlike the standard mobile apps or the web, PWAs are responsive to customer needs, and we are committed to offering innovative solutions that meet those needs,” Collins said.

The app targets Kenya's growing digital population, who are increasingly looking for ways to save time as they prepare for travel. With the PWA, customers can access their boarding pass, receive notifications of upcoming trips, track their flight status, and receive automated updates on any delays or changes to their itinerary.

Customers can access the PWA on Jambojet's website, www.jambojet.com, through a mobile device. A prompt will appear to add the app to the device, and a click on the prompt will add the PWA to the homepage of their smartphone or tablet.
