On July 20, 2020, Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko led a clean-up exercise at the Michuki Memorial Park (MMP) in Nairobi, Kenya, marking a significant step towards restoring public spaces.
The MMP, situated near Museum Hill and Globe Cinema roundabout, has undergone infrastructural rehabilitation, biodiversity assessment, and river bank stabilization in preparation for its opening as a recreational park and educational center.
Accompanied by senior government officials, including CAS Mohammed Elmi and Principal Secretary Dr Chris Kiptoo, Tobiko emphasized the importance of preserving green spaces and restoring public areas for the benefit of the community.
As part of the clean-up exercise, the team aimed to remove litter and debris from the park, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for residents and visitors.
