On a somber Monday morning, the community of Funyula, Busia County, gathered to bid farewell to a beloved son, Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula. His body arrived at his Namisi-Bukeko village home in Nanderema, Busia County, early Monday morning, ahead of his burial.

As a precautionary measure, Public Health officials conducted the burial in Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), adhering to the Health Ministry's COVID-19 burial protocol.

Charles Bukeko's life was cut short on Saturday morning, after he collapsed at the Karen hospital car park, just a week after testing positive for COVID-19. His family had returned to Nairobi from their rural home, seeking medical attention for breathing problems, which led to his diagnosis.

Despite being placed under the home care program, Bukeko's condition took a turn for the worse on Saturday morning, prompting his family to rush him to the hospital, where he sadly passed away.

As the community mourns the loss of this talented comedian, we remember his contributions to the world of entertainment and the joy he brought to countless lives.
