Charles Bukeko, the renowned Kenyan actor and comedian, best known for his character Papa Shirandula, passed away on Saturday morning at Karen Hospital. He was later diagnosed with Covid-19.
His wife, Beatrice Andega, shared a heart-wrenching account of Papa's last moments, revealing that he died while seated in the vehicle at the hospital's parking lot.
Beatrice recalled how she urged Papa to get tested after he complained of feeling cold, but he had only received Covid-19 results by the time he was taken to the hospital on Saturday.
She expressed her disappointment with the hospital's admission process, stating that they only conducted one test on Papa, which she felt was negligence.
Beatrice painfully narrated during the funeral service in Funyula, Busia County, 'He did everything for me. He is a man who supported me and If I wanted to do a project I could talk to him.. he supported me.'
She also revealed that Papa had been working for three weeks before his demise, and had even told her he was feeling cold on Sunday, prompting her to urge him to get tested.
