TV star Papa Shirandula was laid to rest in Namisi-Bukeko village, Busia county, under strict Covid-19 directives. The burial was attended by friends and family, including Kiss FM morning show co-host Jalango, who was mentored by Papa Shirandula.
On social media, Jalango penned a heartfelt tribute to the fallen legend, saying 'Humble Beginnings….I Thank Papa for Trusting me!…May God rest His soul.'
Another attendee, Captain Otoyo, who had acted as Jalango's brother in the Papa Shirandula show, also paid his tribute, saying 'Papa Shirandula opened doors we could only dream of. we lay to rest a Father figure, a mentor, a role model This was our second episode on Papa Shirandula Show 15 Years ago.'
Papa Shirandula died aged 58, after succumbing to Covid-19 at Karen hospital's parking lot after developing breathing difficulties. He leaves behind a widow and three adorable kids, and was a mentor to many who will deeply miss him and his leadership skills.
