Published on July 20, 2020, the day after Charles Bukeko's passing, his wife Beatrice Andega spoke out against the Karen Hospital, accusing them of negligence in his death.
At the actor's funeral, Beatrice Andega expressed her grief and anger, stating that the hospital staff did not attend to her husband in good time when she took him for treatment on the fateful day.
She claimed that the hospital staff did not consider his condition an emergency and that he died while waiting at the hospital.
According to Beatrice, her husband had requested three tests - malaria, pneumonia, and Covid-19 - but the hospital only concentrated on COVID-19, ignoring the rest.
While some speculate that Charles Bukeko succumbed to the novel coronavirus, his father Cosmas Bukeko has denied these claims, stating that he will engage a lawyer to get proper information from the hospital.
Charles Bukeko, popularly known for his role in Citizen TV's Papa Shirandula show, was laid to rest in a brief funeral at his rural home.
