Charles Bukeko, the late Papa Shirandula, did not die from COVID-19, his family has disputed reports claiming otherwise.
Speaking during the comedian's funeral on Monday, Cosmas Bukeko, Papa's father, expressed disbelief at the claims, stating that they would seek answers from the Karen Hospital with the help of a lawyer.
"For now, I cannot say anything about his illness until we sit with the hospital. I'll travel to Nairobi and together with his wife, we shall engage a lawyer to get the proper information from the hospital," Cosmas Bukeko said.
Beatrice Bukeko, Papa's widow, also criticized the hospital for her husband's death, alleging that the medics did not attend to him quickly, leaving him to die at the waiting bay.
She further claimed that Papa was only tested for COVID-19 when he went to the hospital last week, and that other tests, including Malaria, were ignored.
According to the family, Papa was suffering from Pneumonia, which might have contributed to his death.
