On July 20, 2020, the Kenyan entertainment industry bid farewell to a beloved figure, Papa Shirandula, whose real name was Charles Bukeko. The ministry of health had ordered a restricted burial in line with COVID-19 guidelines.
Only 10 people, including family members and close friends, were allowed to attend the graveside service at Papa Shirandula's home in Samia, Busia county.
