Published on July 20, 2020, Watford's Premier League struggles have led to the sacking of manager Nigel Pearson with just two games left in the season.

Nigel Pearson, a 56-year-old tactician, was hired in December as a replacement for Quique Sanchez Flores, who had been struggling to maintain momentum towards the end of the season.

Initially, Pearson had some incredible results, including a 3-0 defeat of Liverpool, but he failed to maintain the momentum towards the end of the season.

With the Hornets currently sitting 17th on the table with 34 points after 36 league appearances, just three points better than 18th place Bournemouth, the decision to sack Pearson was likely made to avoid relegation.

Watford has two crucial games against Manchester City and Arsenal, and they must avoid defeats if they have to survive relegation this term.
