On May 20, Tecra Muigai, the daughter of Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja, tragically passed away in what was initially reported as an accident.
However, a recent postmortem report has shed new light on the circumstances surrounding her death, revealing that Tecra had suffered multiple head injuries that could not have been caused by a fall down a flight of stairs.
According to the report, government pathologist Johansen Oduor observed that the injuries were unlikely to have been caused by a single impact, suggesting that Tecra may have suffered a blunt object injury.
Dr. Oduor's findings were echoed by consultant pathologist Andrew Gachii, who concluded in his 14-page report that Tecra's numerous head injuries were unlikely to have been caused by a single impact.
Furthermore, a toxicology examination found no alcohol in Tecra's system, contradicting earlier reports.
These new findings have significant implications for the case against Omar Lali, who was set to be charged over Tecra's death after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) reviewed the evidence.
Published on July 20, 2020, the postmortem report has sparked renewed interest in the case, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tecra's death.
