Published on July 20, 2020, Dennis Itumbi, a popular blogger and former director of digital media in the Office of President, has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta offered him a job, which he declined.
According to Itumbi, this was the second time the State House had extended a job offer to him, and he felt it necessary to inform the public of his decision to avoid any confusion.
Itumbi expressed his gratitude for the offer but made it clear that he was not interested in the position. He suggested that the job should be offered to President Kenyatta's confidants, whom he referred to as Harambee House Prefects.
"Asanteni sana for the Job Offers, I appreciate it. This is the second time, I think if I tweet it you will understand it better. I Am Not Interested. Wacha Harambee House Prefects wafanye hio kazi. SITAKI! I dedicate YOU to this song," Itumbi posted on his Twitter handle.
Itumbi dedicated the song "For King And Country No Turning Back" to President Kenyatta, drawing a parallel between the Head of State and a king who invites a beggar into his court.
Itumbi's decision to turn down the job offer has sparked discussions, with some drawing parallels to Deputy President William Ruto's alleged job offer, which remains unclear.
