Jose Mourinho has hailed Harry Kane as a 'special' player, saying his bond with Tottenham Hotspur makes him unreplaceable. The England captain scored twice in Tottenham's 3-0 win over Leicester on Sunday, boosting their bid to qualify for the Europa League.

With six goals since the Premier League restart and 13 in 18 games under Mourinho, Kane has silenced critics who claimed he couldn't flourish in the Portuguese manager's rigid game-plan.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho praised Kane's dedication to the club, saying: 'I think everyone thinks he's a fantastic player and Tottenham is so lucky to have him because he's the player, the person and the Tottenham boy.'

He added: 'All this together makes him really a special player for us that probably wouldn’t be so special playing for another team.'

Leicester, who remain level on points with fifth-placed Manchester United, may have to settle for Europa League qualification after a damaging loss. They will need to beat United in next weekend's final day of the season to secure a top-four finish.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said his side will be fired up for the United showdown, despite a disappointing run since the restart. 'We have had disruptions with injuries, but that aside, we have not been as consistent as what we want,' he said.
