Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki is in mourning following the sudden death of her 20-year-old daughter Wendy Muthoni, a second-year law student at JKUAT Karen campus.
According to reports, Muthoni died on Sunday evening at the Nairobi Hospital, but the cause of death remains unclear.
Leaders from across the political divide, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto, have sent messages of condolences to the CS and her family.
President Kenyatta wished the family 'God's fortitude during this difficult period of grief' and assured them of his support.
Deputy President Ruto described Muthoni as a 'determined, diligent and honest lady' who will be fondly remembered for her kindness and dependability.
He added, 'May the family, friends and her college-mates find strength to get through this grief. Rest In Peace.'
