President Uhuru Kenyatta has led the nation in mourning the loss of Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki's daughter, Wendy Muthoni, who passed away at a Nairobi hospital on July 19, 2020.
According to a tweet from State House, President Kenyatta wished the family 'God's fortitude during this difficult period of grief' and assured them of his support.
Deputy President William Ruto also extended his condolences to CS Kariuki, describing Wendy Muthoni as a 'determined, diligent and honest lady who will be fondly remembered for her kindness and dependability.'
Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka also took to Twitter to condole Kariuki's family, saying 'May God give them strength during this difficult period.'
