Papa Shirandula Laid to Rest in Busia

Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, left a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry.

On Saturday morning, the celebrated actor passed away at the Karen Hospital, where he had been admitted after testing positive for Covid-19.

Before his hospitalization, Mr. Bukeko had been on self-isolation at his home, following the diagnosis.

His body was taken to Montezuma Funeral Home along Mbagathi Way, Nairobi, before being transported to his home county of Busia on Sunday.

As the nation mourns the loss of a beloved figure, President Uhuru Kenyatta led the country in paying tribute to Mr. Bukeko's contributions to the arts.

Other institutions, including the Media Council of Kenya and Royal Media Services, have also expressed their condolences to the family.

Mr. Bukeko leaves behind his wife and three children, who will continue to cherish his memory.

On Monday, the actor will be laid to rest in his Busia home, surrounded by family and friends who gathered to bid him farewell.
