COVID-19: Kenya Records 603 New Cases, 682 Recoveries ¶
On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Kenya's Health Minister, Mutahi Kagwe, announced that the country had recorded 603 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 13,353.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases were reported in the following counties: Nairobi (441), Kiambu (44), Mombasa (22), Nakuru (17), Kilifi (10), Machakos (6), Kisii (6), Makueni (5), Murang'a (3), and Nyeri (2).
Minister Kagwe also announced that 682 people had recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,122.
However, the country has also reported 225 new deaths, taking the total number of fatalities to 234.
"The data shows that the number of COVID-19 cases is still on the rise. We urge Kenyans to take necessary precautions and follow health guidelines," Minister Kagwe said.
As of Sunday, July 19, 2020, the global number of COVID-19 cases had reached 14,458,857, with 8,643,379 recoveries and 605,694 fatalities.
