Published on July 19, 2020, Kenya marked a significant milestone in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic with the highest number of recoveries reported in a single day.
According to the latest statistics, 682 people were discharged from various health facilities and home-based care after being declared free from the virus over the last 24 hours.
Of these, 562 were in home-based care, while 120 were discharged from health facilities across the nation.
Meanwhile, 603 new cases were reported, bringing the total number of cases to 13,353.
Nairobi led the list with the highest number of cases at 441, followed by Kiambu (44), Mombasa (22), Nakuru (17), Kilifi (10), Machakos (6), Kisii (6), Makueni (5), Murang'a (3), and Nyeri (2).
Other counties that reported cases include Kisumu, Kwale, Lamu, Narok, Tharaka Nithi, and Uasin Gishu, each with a single case.
Unfortunately, 9 people succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 234.
With these new recoveries, the total number of recoveries now stands at 5,122.
