On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Kenya's Covid-19 cases reached a total of 13,353 after 603 individuals tested positive over the preceding 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health, the country's Chief Administrative Secretary, Dr. Mutahi Kagwe, urged Kenyans to adhere to the measures put in place to curb the spread of the virus.
During the same period, a total of 5,724 samples were tested, bringing the cumulative figure of tests done so far to 243,887.
Out of the 603 cases, 361 were male and 242 were female, with the youngest case being a seven-month-old infant and the oldest an 86-year-old.
Additionally, 682 people were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,122.
Unfortunately, the death toll rose to 234, after 9 more patients succumbed to the virus.
The 603 cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number of cases at 441, followed by Kiambu with 44 cases.
