Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, left a lasting legacy in Kenyan entertainment. The beloved actor, who passed away on July 18, 2020 at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi, will be laid to rest at his rural home in Bukeko village, Funyula Constituency, Busia County.
According to his family, the burial is set to take place on July 20, 2020, after the body arrives at the home, in compliance with Health regulations. The family had initially planned to hold the burial on Sunday, but due to the late arrival of the body, they decided to postpone it to Monday morning.
Charles Bukeko, a household name in Kenya, was known for his role in the popular Citizen TV show Papa Shirandula. Before his passing, he had been on self-isolation at home after testing positive for coronavirus, according to his brother Charles Wanyama.
Speaking to the Sunday Nation, Wanyama revealed that doctors had allowed his brother to battle the virus from home, as his symptoms were not considered serious. However, the actor's condition took a turn for the worse, and he was taken to the Karen Hospital, where he died at the parking lot before being admitted.
