On Saturday, President Trump retweeted a video featuring a cover of Linkin Park's 2001 hit 'In the End'. However, the video has since been removed from Twitter after the band complained about the unauthorized use of their music.
Linkin Park stated that they did not authorize the use of their music by Trump or his campaign, and a cease and desist has been issued.
The band's late lead singer Chester Bennington was known for his outspoken disapproval of President Trump, and his tweets from 2017 reflect his strong opposition to the Republican president.
Linkin Park are not the first band to take issue with Trump's use of their music, with several other artists including The Rolling Stones, Queen, Rihanna, and Neil Young also complaining about the unauthorized use of their songs.
According to Variety, commentators noted the bizarre choice of 'In the End' for the pro-Trump video, given its lyrics which include 'It doesn't even matter'.
