Covid-19 Spreads to Kiambu Police Stations

On July 19, 2020, Kiambu County Police Commander Ali Nuno revealed that over 20 remandees at Thika and Makongeni police stations had tested positive for Covid-19.

Of the total, three cases were confirmed at Thika Police Station, while 17 tested positive at Makongeni Police Station.

According to Mr. Nuno, the testing was conducted last week after two remandees showed symptoms of coronavirus.

Additionally, police officers within the county have been tested and are waiting for their results.

Since March 2020, six police officers in Kiambu County have tested positive for the virus.

These developments come just a day after the Ministry of Health reported 688 new positive cases, the highest number recorded in a single day.
