On July 16, 2020, Omar Lali was acquitted of murder charges in the death of Tecra Muigai, the Keroche heiress, after the Director of Public Prosecutions entered a nolle prosequi, discontinuing the case.

However, new details have emerged regarding an unidentified Dutch woman who was allegedly involved with Lali, sparking a new twist in the mysterious case.

According to reports, the Dutch woman shared a child with Lali, suggesting a love triangle.

The woman, who rented a house 6km away from Lali and Tecra's residence in Lamu, has left investigators with more questions than answers.

It is unclear whether Lali met the Dutch woman during the 38 days Tecra stayed with him in Lamu.

Investigations have established that it was highly unlikely Tecra fell down a flight of stairs, as per Lali's narrative.

Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor observed that the post-mortem results show multiple head injuries that cannot be explained by a fall.

Additionally, toxicology experts found no alcohol in Tecra's system, ruling out the possibility of her losing her footing and tumbling down the stairs.

Lali was identified as a person of interest after an eyewitness reported that he asked her to rub off blood stains at the bottom of the apartments' staircase, which he claimed came from a minor accident.

Yusuf Abubakar, Lali's lawyer, maintained his client's innocence, but the latest reports may indicate otherwise.
