Nairobi Senator Johnston Sakaja's freedom is short-lived, as lawyer Cliff Ombeta claims he is still wanted by police. This comes just hours after Nairobi County police boss Philip Ndolo told Nairobi News that no action will be taken against the senator.
On Saturday evening, Mr Ombeta tweeted that two of his clients are still being held at Kilimani police station, and that Senator Sakaja was needed in relation to the matter.
"Gone missing," Mr Ombeta tweeted. "He is required to report back at the station inorder to be processed for court. Other innocent persons have been arrested as collateral so that he appears. Hon Sakaja, popote ulipo, please get back to Kilimani, my clients are suffering as we wait for you."
Senator Sakaja had been released by police officers from the same station, although he later denied claims that he had been arrested. A video of him in a police cell circulated on social media.
