On a recent move-out clean, a cleaner was faced with a toilet in a deplorable state, with stains around the water line, under the rim, and even on the base. The property manager was likely to replace it, but the cleaner decided to give it a try using an unlikely item - a pumice stone.

According to a post shared on the Cleaning Tips & Tricks Facebook group, the cleaner used a combination of a pumice stone, limescale remover, and a cleaning pad to achieve incredible before and after results.

She explained that she only used the stone for the top of the toilet and a Shaw's pad for the rest, a scouring pad designed for toilets available from retailers like Amazon.

"I thought the property manager was going to need to replace the toilet but it came clean using LimeAway, a pumice stone, and a Shaw’s PAD," she wrote.

"This is why I clean my toilet regularly, then it is super easy to clean. Move out cleans are so much work."

The post received hundreds of praises for the transformation job, with one person writing, "Wow fair play, I think I'd puke having to clean that - how could someone even use a toilet in that condition."

Another person added, "Congratulations on conquering that beast!!"

A third person commented, "Doesn't look like the same toilet to me tbh."
