As of 2020, TikTok has taken a firm stance against misinformation that could harm public health or safety in Europe. The video-sharing app has deleted approximately 29,000 coronavirus-related videos that broke its rules since the beginning of the year.
According to TikTok, about 3,000 of these videos contained medical misinformation, which the company describes as a 'low-level' issue. Notably, the number of coronavirus-themed videos breaking the rules has decreased every month since peaking in March.
