Published on July 18, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 situation continues to worsen with the virus spreading to 44 counties.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe expressed concern over the rising trend, which has seen the country record a record high of 688 new infections on Saturday.
The new cases bring the country's total case load to 12,750, with most of the infected individuals still in Nairobi.
According to Kagwe, the virus has spread into the communities, and the success of fighting the pandemic depends on the collaboration and corporation of all Kenyans.
He urged counties to hasten the process of having at least 300 isolation beds and warned that COVID-19 cases are spreading fast at the community level.
During a tour of Embu County, Kagwe unveiled a new slogan 'Save Me I Save You' in the war against COVID-19, aimed at making each person wary of the person next to them.
