Kenyan actor Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, has passed away at the age of 58. He was a beloved figure in Kenyan entertainment, best known for his iconic role in the TV series Papa Shirandula, which aired on Citizen TV.
According to his family, Shirandula died at the Karen Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment since Monday. The cause of his death remains unknown, with the family waiting for a report from the hospital.
Shirandula's sister-in-law, Alice Atamba, revealed that the family had not been given details about his death, stating, "They have not given us the details. We are waiting for the hospital's report but he was just unwell."
During his illustrious career, Shirandula appeared in numerous TV shows, including The Captain of Nakara (2012), and commercials for prominent brands such as Coca Cola and GOTV. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Andega, and three children, Tony, Charlie, and Wendy.
