Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, was a renowned Kenyan comedian and actor who left a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry. One of the celebrities who benefited from Papa Shirandula's mentorship is Felix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang'o. In a radio show in 2017, Jalang'o disclosed that he and his friend Otoyo were called to the show as extras by Charles Bukeko. They performed so well that they impressed Royal Media MD Wachira Waruru, who decided that they would not leave the program.
Today, Jalang'o is a radio presenter, while Otoyo performs on Churchill show regularly.
Another celebrity who was mentored by Papa Shirandula is Jackie Vike, popularly known as Awinja. In an interview on January 7, 2020, Vike narrated how she got her role on Papa Shirandula by mere chance. She had gone to audition for a different show only to be called eight months later to act on Papa Shirandula.
Her character on the show has made Awinja a household name and enabled her to clinch more opportunities.
