As the 2022 presidential election draws near, Deputy President William Ruto is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. In a strategic move, Ruto has directed Belgut MP Nelson Koech to lead a special team of surveyors, political scientists, and researchers to conduct national surveys on his candidature.

According to sources, the special poll team has been tasked with portraying Ruto as having a majority support in the Mt. Kenya region, with the aim of weaving a narrative that he is more popular than President Kenyatta.

”The Focus Region is Mt. Kenya region and they want to show that he has a majority support in Mt. Kenya and other regions,” a source confided to this writer.

MP Koech, who holds a Certificate in International Relations from the Lewis Ham College in the UK, floated the idea of a pollster team to Ruto several months ago, and it has finally taken off.
