Charles Bukeko, the talented Kenyan actor popularly known as Papa Shirandula, has left us. He passed away on a Friday night at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi, where he had been admitted after a brief illness.
Confirming his death, actress and radio host Jackie Nyaminde, alias Wilbroda, spoke to K24 Digital from the hospital, where she was waiting for other colleagues from the acting industry to join her.
‘I am at the Karen Hospital, waiting for my other colleagues in the acting industry to join us. It is unfortunate that we have lost an acting legend,’ Wilbroda told K24 Digital.
Ngige Ngugi, the Head of Production at Royal Media Services, also reached out to Papa Shirandula’s family, sending representatives to check on them after hearing the news of his passing.
‘I am at a funeral in Nakuru, my mother passed on. And, yes, I have heard reports that Bukeko is no more. I have tried reaching his wife, but she is not picking my calls. I have, therefore, sent representatives to Papa’s home,’ Ngige Ngugi said.
