On Saturday morning, Nairobi lost a beloved television star, Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula.
According to his brother-in-law Ronald Wanyama, Shirandula had travelled to Western and returned to Nairobi on Sunday before falling ill.
He was rushed to the Karen Hospital, where he experienced difficulty in breathing, but unfortunately, he did not make it out alive.
Shirandula had tested positive for Covid-19, and his family is devastated by the news.
As the main actor in the Citizen TV comedy series 'Papa Shirandula', he brought joy to many Kenyans, and his passing is a significant loss to the entertainment industry.
Shirandula was an award-winning actor, having won the Kalasha Award for 'Best Actor in a TV Series' in 2010.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice and three children.
