On July 18, 2020, Jack Daniel's East Africa brand ambassador David Mutuga announced the launch of a virtual bartender mentorship program, dubbed Tennessee Campus, to support bartenders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program aims to elevate bartenders as a brand and provide them with valuable skills and insights to navigate the new challenges in the hospitality industry.

Originally, the training was to be physical, but due to the prevailing conditions, it was shifted online. Each of the 60 participants was given a starter-pack that included data allowance, shopping voucher, and other essentials.

As part of the next phase, Mutuga states that each bartender will be encouraged to put their skills to the test on the digital platform and will be rewarded with monetary compensation to help them generate income.

With the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down bars, bartenders have found themselves grounded at home. Jack Daniel's has taken this opportunity to engage with bartenders and provide them with the support they need to succeed.
