Kenyans Rally Behind Comedian Njugush After Online Row with Bonfire Adventures ¶
Comedian Timothy Kimani, alias Njugush, found himself in an online row with Sarah Kabu, CEO of Bonfire Adventures, over a tweet associated with a rival company.
On July 16, Njugush shared a video of his Maasai Mara tour where he and his friend Abel Mutua helped rescue a Bonfire Adventures' van that had gotten stuck in a muddy road.
However, Sarah Kabu did not take the video lightly and had it pulled down citing copyright infringement.
Instagram also threatened to delete Njugush's account over content violation.
Angered by the development, Kenyans took to Twitter to show solidarity with the comedian.
Many termed Kabu's actions as petty, saying she should have thanked the Bountiful Safari's team for helping a Bonfire Adventure's driver in need.
Others claimed that Kabu's team should be thankful that Njugush helped market their company free of charge.
Following the online squabble, Njugush's followers took to Instagram and reported Bonfire Adventures' page.
Meanwhile, Njugush took his son to Maasai Mara for a short vacation days after the young man requested him to fly them to Dubai.
On July 18, 2020, the online row between Njugush and Bonfire Adventures sparked a heated debate on social media.
