Just days after Deputy President William Ruto announced an end to the Jubilee Party purge, new reports indicate that the party has lined up six MPs aligned with the DP to face a disciplinary committee.
The MPs, including Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Alice Wahome (Kandara), Oscar Sudi (Kapsaret), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Caleb Kositany (Soy), and Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), are accused of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to a source within Jubilee's National Executive Committee (NEC), the six MPs will be taken through the disciplinary process for 'constantly abusing the President and openly going against the party position.'
However, the MPs have hit back, with Soy MP Kositany stating that he was ready to face the committee as he was targeted long before the purge began.
The disciplinary committee is also set to table its report on five Nominated Senators who were grilled in May 2020 after they skipped a Parliamentary Group meeting summoned by Kenyatta at State House.
