Covid-19 Pandemic Sparks Career Reevaluation Among Diaspora Kenyans

Published on July 18, 2020

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the global economy, many Kenyans in the diaspora are reevaluating their career paths. With job security becoming increasingly elusive, the need for a back-up plan has never been more pressing.

According to experts, the pandemic has highlighted the importance of having a career in data analytics, which is in high demand and offers a high earning potential. In the United States, for instance, a job in business analysis, data analysis, and project management can earn upwards of $40 per hour.

Smart Data School of Analytics is offering a 14-week course that covers project management, business analysis, and data analysis. The course aims to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the data analytics field, including data analysis tools such as Python, Advanced Excel, Tableau, SQL, and Alteryx.

With the IT industry slowly attracting African immigrants, the desire for a greater pay and flexibility in careers in data analytics is compelling enough for many to take advantage of these courses. Smart Data School of Analytics presents an opportunity for all African immigrants to acquire the skills needed to prepare them for the new careers.
