Leeds United's long-awaited return to the Premier League has finally been confirmed, ending a 16-year wait for the Yorkshire side.

On Friday, July 17, 2020, WesBromwich Albion's shock 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town sealed Leeds' fate, guaranteeing their promotion to the Premier League.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa's second attempt at promoting Leeds to the Premier League has been successful, following a narrow miss in the 2018/2019 season.

Leeds' impressive form throughout the season, despite the interruption caused by the global pandemic, has been a key factor in their promotion.

Under Bielsa's leadership, the team has come a long way since their relegation from the Premier League in 2004, when they were in financial turmoil and eventually went into administration in 2007.

With only two games remaining in the season, the battle for the remaining automatic promotion spot is set to go down to the wire between Wesbrom and Brentford.
