Jubilee Deputy Secretary General Caleb Kositany Accuses Uhuru's Advisor of Embezzlement ¶
On Friday, July 17, 2020, Jubilee Deputy Secretary General Caleb Kositany escalated his feud with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Secretary General Raphael Tuju during a visit to Uasin Gishu County.
Kositany claimed that the president's top political advisor was being used to siphon money by the party. He alleged that in 2018, the party had withdrawn Ksh193 million but did not account for it.
According to audit books at the Auditor General's office, the advisor had received Ksh20 million, but Kositany believed she was given Ksh20 million, with some zeros omitted to conceal the true amount.
Kositany added that when he started questioning the party's expenditure, the officials orchestrated to remove him. He criticized the process of removing the deputy secretary-general, stating that it should be done through a National Delegates Conference and grassroots elections.
He also faulted the conditional reopening of churches and places of worship, stating that even if children and those above 58 years old were asked to keep off, they would still interact with family members who attend the services.
