Safaricom, a leading telecommunications company in Kenya, has announced that M-Pesa services will be unavailable for a period of time on July 18, 2020, from 4 pm to July 19, 2020, 4 am.
The company stated that the maintenance is necessary to improve its system and ensure that its services are more efficient.
According to Safaricom, the maintenance is scheduled to take place during a period when most customers are not actively using the service, minimizing disruptions to their businesses.
As part of the maintenance, all M-Pesa services, including mobile money transactions, will be unavailable during the specified period.
In a statement, Safaricom explained that the maintenance is part of its ongoing efforts to improve the M-Pesa system and provide better services to its customers.
"For over 13 years, M-PESA has transformed the lives of millions of Kenyans by connecting them to new opportunities every day. To further improve these changes, we regularly upgrade our system," Safaricom stated.
Despite the temporary suspension of M-Pesa services, Safaricom has assured its customers that the maintenance will not affect their transactions and that they will be able to access their services as usual once the maintenance is complete.
