On July 17, 2020, a Rwandese woman took her estranged husband to court, seeking orders to compel him to return their two children and pay child support amounting to Ksh.69,000.

The woman claimed her husband abandoned their matrimonial home in Kahawa Sukari and moved to Karen with the househelp and their kids.

According to court papers, she sought to be allowed to take back the minors, stating she had unsuccessfully tried to reach the man in person and through his family members.

She further alleged that the househelp is now posing as the mother of the children, aggravating 'psychological injury' towards them.

The woman is also seeking Ksh.69,000 from the man for the provision of shelter, food, and clothing of the children, adding that he earns at least USD.300,000 (over Ksh.32 million).
